I get this, but probably the best way to feel safer is to forge local connections. Check on your neighbors, they’ll check on you

Unfortunately, many neighbors in the US have decided to take it upon themselves to install a fascist dictator as the head of our government.

In fact, the only way that many of those neighbors will “check in” on their neighbors is through a scope.

My district voted 86% for Trump to 14% for Harris.

I have no neighbors. Just people who will report me to the secret police in the future.

          I’ve been there, not impressed.

besides, I’m not allowed back. something about I “scare the congregation”.

I say those with a wicked heart will always fear judgement.

A friend in the UK called me first thing this morning to check on me. It meant the world. Please do check on your friends in the US, now and regularly. ❤️

Ummmm … no … your military has been dishing out misery all over the world for the past 80 years.

US poor now get to see and feel what the rest of the world has been going through.

We’re all too busy trying to look after ourselves because of what you guys have left everyone everywhere.

    Rule 2.

But sure, we can do that. It’s not particularly difficult to find news from the US in other parts of the world.

Don’t worry about that. We pay a few of our own journalists to live in the US and report the news. I occasionally read or watch both the European and unfiltered American reporting and they’re not alike. I think we still get a picture resembling something close to the truth. At least generally speaking.

Hmmh, that’s usually postponed until after a war is over. At least to gather the exact numbers. But the other side isn’t going to conceal it. They’re going to brag about it. So we’ll know anyways.

Y’all need to touch grass. This is pathetic. You’re sad and scared because you hide in a leftist echo chamber and have just been confronted with the reality outside that bubble. You’re going to be fine. Your neighbors don’t want to hurt you. They want to live peaceful, prosperous lives, just like you do. I hope you are quickly able to see past the disappointment of your preferred candidate losing.

This is cope, and to a dangerously naïve extent. He killed hundreds of thousands of Americans in 2020 through sheer negligence alone. He had political dissenters black bagged by masked enforcers into unmarked vans during the BLM protests.

This time around, his party has consolidated around him and he has promised mass deportations that are logistically unviable and will require widespread use of violence to be actioned. He’s promised extreme tariffs that will cause millions more to be unable to afford housing, sustenance or medical attention. He’s called for a really bad day of violence. This means Kristallnacht again.

Even if he does end up being too lazy to follow through on any of his promises, a hope we really ought not to rely on, the fascist movement he’s built up around him will control all three branches of government and be able to do as they please. The deaths that’ll be caused by the environmental damage alone will be untold, and this is to say nothing of the effects that this government will have abroad.

Lemmy is going to be insufferable for the next four years, isn’t it? Hysteria is already through the roof.

If you lived through four years of that greasy shit stain, you might be a little hysterical too.

But please, don’t let me interrupt you from acting like an insufferable twat.

He was a shit President, but all the doommongering about how WWIII was about to begin never happened. Because he was just shit and incompetent.

The next four years will be similar.

to be fair, he had more checks on his power then, had less motive for revenge against the justice and electoral systems, and is now even more crazy. Im hoping it will be just some incompetence and international embarrassment, but Im worried that it might be more.

In 2016 the Republicans didn’t have the planning or political infrastructure to truly cause the damage they wanted to. In less than a decade we now have an openly corrupt and stacked Supreme Court, a legislature with plenty of Maga sycophants to pass whatever they want and a presidency that is going to be filled with the likes of Elon Musk and the literal Project 2025 playbook written by trumps cronies and the Herritage Foundation.

Funny, it’s trump himself doing the doommongering about WWIII. Hmmmm.

Just note, it may not end our shit democracy but it won’t be more of the same. Trump first time around was a dog that caught the car. This time he brought a pack a wolves with him.

Though a few peoples freedoms have been taken away, like women. And you got a lot stupider on average. And he cut the taxes of the rich while millions lost health insurance and national debt increased. So it’s not particularly great eiher.
