I just saw two troll accounts posting child pornography on [email protected]. The accounts are –
Content warning (obviously): Child pornography
Both accounts were made today to post just one post, and both are using images hosted on Mintboard.org.
I don’t think this is just an issue of having moderators react faster. I think there should be some limits on posting with one-day old accounts or for accounts trying to make their first post on this one.
Mods should react to reports, if not what fucking good are they?
To be fair to them, very few forums have 24 hour rapid response times. I don’t know what country the mods are in. I think the bigger lesson is that there need to be safeguards to make this harder.
First, if a post has a score of -10, it needs to disappear. There’s no reason for another fifty people to have to see disturbing content after 10 people already did.
Second, maybe place limits on accounts with no posts or comments or that were made today.
So I can make 10 accounts and have free reign to delete anyone’s post? No dice. There’s already systems in place to prevent this from happening, some things just slip through the cracks. (There’s a reason this is a rare occurrence)
-10 and it goes into a quarantine until a mod reviews it then.
That really isn’t any better. This is just asking for targeted harassment.
(Key point the only reason the post hasn’t been deleted yet is because there are no mods on to do so)
What if Lemmy clients had an option to not view negative X posts on the cummulative feed, you would have to directly navigate to the sub to view all content currently available including the negative X or lower posts?
Each client would have to implement this, but could be a way to “clean up” the primary feed. I hate when I see -20-something posts on subs im on because im fairly certain they’ve all deserved those scores.
Just a thought, what else could we implement to help this issue?
That use to be a feature is some reddit clients.
I’ve gotten -10 on some non-trolling posts ;).
CP is illegal. Communities have been shut for less. Go look at the shitposting community over at Lemmy.world. They shut down overCSAM and started an application system for membership.
What is CSAM mean?
Child Sexual Abuse Material
There’s @[email protected] that AFAIK auto removes either based on number of downvotes or reports. I just have no idea how much that would be
