If those kids could read they’d be very upset
Hexbear users are welcome here, but I’m not really willing to allow promotion of their communities.
but I’m not really willing to allow promotion of their communities.
I didn’t really know anything about Hexbear but I’m intrigued and will check it out now I know it’s getting actively censored. What do you have against it?
Being actively against the capitalist status quo and US hegemony that’s currently committing a genocide do be like that
As a rabid homosexual man I’m a little disappointed at the lack of twink self-posting communities on Hexbear. In fact there’s not even a general gay community. I’ll think about it.
In fact there’s not even a general gay community.
There is! Check out /c/anti_cishet_aktion
But really, the entire instance is the general gay community lol
I think hexbear toned down some of their gayness ever since Putin banned being gay.
We’ve gotten even gayer since 😎
Ooooo go on then, I’ll bite. Seeing as I’m in a safe space here, and don’t have to tread on eggshells to avoid an unhinged moderator carelessly spinning Thor’s banhammer.
US hegemony that’s currently committing a genocide
How is the US committing genocide right now?
Let’s start with some facts - numbered, for your easy reply:
- The US have not been killing Palestinians. Israel have. Israel is a separate country to the US, and they do what they like. If anything, it almost seems that the US bends to Israel’s will - so it should be “an Israeli hegemony”. However, in reality, the US is merely an ally of Israel and simply is fulfilling its obligation to protect it from wider conflict. This is their motive, alongside a general incentive to keep international trade flowing for the US’ own economic interests.
- The US did not cause the famine in Yemen. It was never a US blockade. The blockade was started by Saudia Arabia in 2015, the US provided assistance as an ally but then left in 2016. Saudia Arabia was always the driving force, and has been the only force since 2016. The famine in Yemen started in late 2016, after the US pulled out.
- The US does, of course, supply weapons to their allies. But so do all sorts of other countries - why do you single the US out, specifically? They’re the biggest dog, but the other countries aren’t doing it because the US is doing it, they’re doing it because money.
I’m willing to wager that you’re ready and willing to spin anything into being the US’ fault. The reality is far more nuanced. Your hyperbole does nothing to help the situation - however it does encourage war to keep going and maybe even escalate.
The only people who will benefit from this are those that manufacture and sell weapons. Wouldn’t you know it, most of those people are in the US. Your actions are serving American capitalist war mongerers.
We’re a leftist unity (commies and anarchists mostly) community that can be pretty abrasive if you take “being online” too seriously, but otherwise our barks are worse than our bites, heh.
They’re just a bunch of assholes, to be succinct.
To give more detail, they are tankies who claim a far-left ideology. It’s like lemmygrad but a bit more crazy. But what’s really weird is that they’re very pro LGBTQ+, but at the same time support Russia (who have outlawed being gay).
Hexbear mods are pretty unhinged, in my experience. They ban people for saying anything they disagree with, usually making extraordinary claims in the modlog to justify, which in no way relate to the comment they ban. Don’t you dare suggest that Hamas was wrong to kill Israelis on 7 October, that’s genocide apologia!!
I also wonder if there’s a strong astroturfed element there. Like, they’re trying to sucker people in to an extreme ideology.
Edit: Their modlog can be quite entertaining. It seems like they’ve toned down slightly, but I still didn’t have to go that far to find claims of genocide support.
It also almost seems like they’ve purged their modlogs somewhat, as you see less detail the further you go down - although I expect that’s actually a lemmy bug (I’ve seen similar looking at user profiles). If you look at the modlogs for individual communities you might see more. However, I’d warn you that spending time there simply isn’t good for your soul.
When you roll around with pigs, you’ll both get covered in shit. The difference is the pig likes it. /pig_shitting_png_they_always_post
Uhh okay whatever I didn’t even think people on this instance could see it, the link doesn’t work
If we weren’t federated with you, you wouldn’t be here.
I don’t need someone to ask me how to moderate my community. Although, I do thank you for breaking my duck.
I was actually hoping this could’ve been the start of a conversation where you’d tell me why to allow your link and restore it. Instead, you’ve tried to circumvent me and apparently brought someone in to upvote your removed comment after it was gone.
I’m still open to discussion.
apparently brought someone in to upvote your removed comment after it was gone.
Lol I just came across it on my home page, and removed comments are still visible on Sync fortunately.
You came late to the party, and only upvoted after I pointed out the downvote. The scores are getting kind of meaningless now anyway - moreso than normal, at least.
But yeah, that’s a funky bug I’m quietly aware of. It works on Jerboa as well, and a few others (but maybe not the ones that are merely web wrappers). Seems like the back end API still gives you access to comments that a user has deleted. There’s apparently 3 levels of deletion - user delete, moderator delete, and purge. I found a comment earlier that was deleted, when I looked inside it said
*permanently deleted*
I don’t need someone to ask me how to moderate my community
Oooo snippy!!!
I’m still open to discussion.
have you ever been gay with your dad?
Lmfao that’s between me and my psychiatrist.
I like the cut of your jib. Don’t fall asleep.
I have no interest in speaking with you at all. Call your wife or mom.
I think the fact that hexbear users have only focused on this post, and no other in this community, is testament to the fact that hexbear is an astroturfing community that serves no purpose but to radicalise people. Their “leftist, pro-LGBT” agenda stops short of calling out Russia.
Challenge them out in the open with real any depth and they will walk away. Challenge them in their own communities and you will get banned for frivolous reasons.

Your previous link worked fine, although really it should have been an instance agnostic link like
/c/theleftcantmeme .net
that way anyone from other instances could also find their way. The fact that you’re creating links specifically targeted at feddit.uk has me raising my eyebrow over your motive.I should point out that my “The Left Can’t Meme” comment isn’t a politically oriented statement, rather it is a reference to the fact that you’re behaving just like extreme right-wingers. It seems like you’re merely the other side of the same ass-penny coin.
Wow it wasn’t funny to me at first but after you explained it I’m actually rolling, that’s a good move for you. Write that down in your “how to be funny to people in conversations you’ve inserted yourself into for no reason” notes.
Half the link was broken and when I posted it I figured it was like blocking the instance but letting us see and comment. Anyways my point is I don’t care. Get a life? 🤷♂️
I wasn’t trying to be funny. I was merely trying to get ahead of the bullshit you spew. Seeing as you’ve become almost completely toothless, it seems to have worked.
Both your links worked fine, but they linked to feddit.uk’s version of hexbear communities. So you would’ve been logged out. If you’d typed it in the form /c/[email protected] it would’ve worked fine (at least, on the website, I’m not sure if apps have quite caught up with generating links from that text) and anyone from lemmy.world would see a link also - oh wait, maybe not, you’re in hexbear so I guess you’re restricted to lemmy.ml and a handful of others. Shame that, having to face the consequences of your behaviour.
Links in the form [email protected] are more widely adopted, I think. I’m gonna check on a few apps in a sec. Edit: the /c/ one still doesn’t work in everything, but !community@instance does.
Also, I thought you had no desire to speak to me?
I didn’t read this.
Oh my! How annoying! I’m so bothered! I guess I should comfort myself in the bosom of my wife who is my mother.
I didn’t read this.
