I agree, it’s a tiny step in the right direction, but definitely too little too late.
It’s different here (at Walmart at least), they leave all their reusable bags at the self checkout where you can just buy them. But there is a lot of staff and the area is like a bullpen, so there is only one exit and there are employees looking at the carts’ contents.
As for the bags, for sure it’s a contentious topic. And I agree with you. As I mentioned in another reply, I see a lot of the sturdier reusable bags for sale at thrift store, they have to roll them up and put them in a bin they have so many…
Yes, and also for the compost. I used to store a few as well but they are so thin now, it’s not worth it.
I agree. I have a drawer full and a bunch in my car. I see a lot of them for sale for a buck at thrift stores, it’s kind of funny and sad.
Where I live (Montréal, Canada) plastic bags are banned everywhere. You either bring your own or buy a reusable at the cash. Some places (like grocery stores) also sell paper bags. You get used to it. If you have a car you leave a bunch of reusables in the trunk, if you don’t you just have to remember to bring one with you. The also sell some super thin ones you can carry in your pockets that are sturdy and large enough for a small run at the grocery store.
Considering the state the world is in, I’m at a point where news like this leave me totally indifferent. I used to feel concerned about privacy and freedom of choice when it comes to consumer goods but right now, with this company? I couldn’t give less of a shit.
If you are rich enough to buy one of these abominations, you are rich enough to put pressure on the manufacturer to tell them you are not ok with this (if in fact that is the case).
SmartTube is amazing. The dev is super reactive, there are updates almost daily. I watch YT mostly on my TV, I’m really thankful it exists!
Works fine here, thanks, interesting read!
I can’t believe anyone looking at this would think it’s real, wtf
You look great! I’ve interviewed my fair share of help desk people, some with rumpled clothes or worst, smelly clothes. Keep them clean and not wrinkled and you’ll be fine. Great advice all around in the other comments. And take note of the belt one especially, it has to be clasped above the zipper. You got this!
Ah! Makes sense. Here we get snow by the meter. Even in the city on plowed sidewalks Doc’s just don’t cut it unfortunately.
I wear Doc’s a lot but never in winter! They’re just ice skates in disguise.
Renting is basically the only way to have housing in certain parts of the world. In large cities too. Not everyone that rents is bad at decision making or on the verge of homelessness…
In this specific case, she was able to blow 12k in renos on a rental and has a Roche Bobois couch that’s worth at least 10k in the setup she has (she mentions this on her twitter feed). To be fair, she also says she realizes she made a terrible mistake and is taking the criticism in stride, so good for her, lesson learned. All this to say, yes she acted stupidly, regardless of how shitty the landlord seem to be.
I agree with you that the housing system needs to change. That conversation has been going on forever. But the solution is not to have everyone strive to own a house.
I agree that the landlord is a shitstain, but that tenant is not the best at decision making either. I can understand spending a couple of hundreds if it makes your life better, but she basically handed over a 12k check to that landlord. I can’t see any good reason to do this.
You should read the article.
I didn’t miss the point, the point is not about seeing ads or not. Expand your thought process a bit.
You sound like you didn’t read the article. This not about seeing ads or not, it’s about large corporations allowing and making profits off advertising criminal activities.
I wonder if it’s a mobile thing because I have the same issue on my tablet (which I completely gave up using for Walmart) but never on my PC.
