I think you misread my post. Im not defending fosstodon or carrotcypher, I was asking for more clarity about the issues.

Reading up on him in the linked posts, he looks like a big piece of shit that shouldn’t be moderating a large mastodon instance. It’s clear he abuses his power there and on the 50 communities here on lemmy he mods to silence discussion that doesn’t align with his views.

You opting to “not look into them” is the same stance as the Fosstodon admins, and honestly, not a good choice.

The link above requires going to a sublink that is long but also very vague to find out the core issue. That link has basically no call outs for a callout post, just byzantine commentary about fosstodons overall code of conduct.

Which fosstodon mod engaged in what racist/anti-lqbt behavior? Where is the admins reply when they were notified about the above behavior?

Using the stock market growth of the last 2 decades of global, neoliberal economic politics to council people to “think long term” about their investments at the start of isolationist, fascist economics policy is maybe not the best idea.

“Look at the past” only works when the past is still relevant. They are ripping up every norm and institution that made those past gains possible.

Glad to see you already picked it up. I read it in “one sitting” over the a couple of months at a slow job. The start was painful, but added really good context to her character.

I cant speak to a Coil like villain that isn’t Coil in the books, but if you are were I think you are, there are many “cold blooded and amazing actions by an anti-hero, villain or hero with a plan” instances left in the book, many of them major plot points.

I cant say anymore without major spoilers, but if the above is your criteria, the books have some pleasant surprises for you if you finish them.

You might enjoy the web novels Worm. The main protagonist is basically exactly the above, an antihero by necessity with an “evil” power. The book in general lends itself to grey morality, even for the heroes. The actual villains? Actual evil. The author likes to imagine unorthodox super powers and really makes the characters with them really sing.

Be warned though, it’s a web novel that is literally something like “normal” 20 books long. Besides a rare lurch or two, it’s also a surprisingly very good 20 novels.

In wall power cables need to be rated for it to prevent fire risks. This will need to have thick insulation or be made of a fire resistant material.
