I have to agree. A16 is looking to include more features and improvements than A15.

Hopefully my Pixel 6a makes the cut for Android 16.

6 series (don’t know about 6a) won’t receive major OS updates anymore.

8 and 9 series come with seven years of OS updates.

Current: Pixel 6a. Probably the best out of all the phones I’ve owned. Wish the battery life was a little bit longer.

It won’t fix the issue of comments being everywhere though. Take this post I made on [email protected]. The same link has been crossposted to 7 other communities with many more comments. I wonder if in the future it’ll be possible to combine comments from various posts about a single link into a megapost of some sort.

• Fossify Calendar: Finally kicked Google Calendar to the curb. No fuss calendar app.
• AVNC: Allows me to remotely control my laptop from my phone. Requires installation of VNC software on the laptop (I’m using TightVNC).
• Binary Eye: Barcode/QR code scanner with history.
• Loop Habit Tracker: Helps me keep track of habits – eg. going to the gym X times a week.
• Island: Allows me to create a clone of app. Useful for apps that don’t support multi-accounts.
• Simple Time Tracker: I use it to keep track of how long I spend playing a game, since I like documenting the info for HowLongToBeat.com

Other than these, K9 Mail and NewPipe.

I remember trying K9 years ago and the UI/UX felt hostile to me trying to add accounts and I uninstalled it. Tried it again last year or so and it was painless. It just worked.

It’s now my default email app and I look forward to improvements as it becomes Thunderbird.

I’m not sure if mods are a proper criteria when it comes to comparing Lemmy and Reddit. The audience is mostly the same and Lemmy doesn’t automatically make people/mods better or worse.

Also, you forgot one major point: API! I get to use and support my third party app of choice Sync here on Lemmy which was killed off by Reddit.

The moment they fix the search, fix their recommendations, stop wasting money on junk projects like games and allow me to completely disable Shorts, I will resubscribe to YT Premium.

Maybe for a month if I’m on a trip to a remote location. Don’t really see a use for it other than that.

Nintendo Switch OLED.

In my opinion it’s the perfect console form factor. Portable yet dockable when needed, detachable Joycons that can turn into 2 controllers for multiplayer games and a bright and vibrant OLED screen.

it’s unfortunate that it’s severely locked down by Nintendo, held back by its weak processor and Nintendo dropped the ball with Joycon drift.
