They just don’t want to support it to save dev time/money
I knew half of the answers would be “just use linux”
Spotube uses your spotify library, but gets the audio from youtube
I don’t know why but this is the first time I read this phrase and it actually makes sense.
I knew exactly what it meant before, but it didn’t make sense until now
Don’t know if you had your answer already, the artificial heart does pump harder when exercising
Don’t know about max specifically, but these streaming services already lose a ton of money every year
More than ever, we see that money is made up
Other prosthetic/mechanical changes to hearts don’t do that, so I would guess this one doesn’t either. It would require interfacing with the brain and decoding stimulus, which would be much more complex.
Usually the recipents just keep activity low or pass out when they need the energy/heat dissipation and can’t get it.
I see, makes sense, so the problem is that the user tokens are collected without knowledge and could be used for pirating
What part of it is malicious? From what I understood, it is a illegal music downloading platform, and they say it opens its users to “legal action”.
Are we calling pirating-enabling software malicious now? Because pirating is ilegal?
How would a hash help? The dns just gives you info to resolve the destination, not the content.
They would need to map the trackers most likely
Proper PWA websites save very well to phone home screens (like voyager for Lemmy!)
Try being in one of the many countries where whatsapp is the only path to get service from companies (banks, utilities, etc).
Even better, try living a modern life as a tourist abroad without a phone number. You can’t get transportation, even public (and there is no physical payment option), you can’t order delivery, you can’t pay with credit cards online because you need to auth with sms. Everything requires an account and everything requires sms.
It’s not just about privacy of your personal texts. People are putting entire societies in the hands of tech/telecom and demanding we identify through unsecure methods. Having a smartphone with a phone number and whatever is the main local app is now mandatory. Single point of failure everywhere.
Fireship maybe? It is not that complicated, they just make a good cheap AI and big tech is panicking because they can only make good expensive AI

Backblaze reports are cool
Microsoft having IE/Edge as the default browser has already cost them in the past. I don’t think Apple faced anything with Safari.
The problem today with chrome is how prevalent it is and how that influences the main product of the internet (advertising), which happens to be Google’s mais product too. Apple can at least make the argument that they make their money with the hardware, not the browser.
Either way, I think all OS should at least give you a list of browsers on first use to choose from.
Access to my main email account (outlook) is currently blocked because someone decided to try a password from some earlier leak and locked it. It can only be unlocked with SMS MFA, which I can’t use because I’m travelling abroad. There is no other way to do it. The other option they give you a form that only works if you don’t have MFA set up (it says so on the faq). I even asked someone to fill the form from my home computer so the location data matches earlier accesses, but didn’t work. You also can’t contact support without logging in. If I had lost/changed that phone number for any reason, I would lose access forever. Luckily I will be back home soon.
elon musk was asked to point a legal rep and show up to answer questions about spreading fake news and promoting criminal activity. He denied point out the rep or participating in the investigation at all. There is some backlash as the judge gave the final warning on twitter since there was no legal rep, which would be a first.
when you have to click once, means they have been gathering all your actions up to that point, and for sure you are human. If you get asked to click images, means they don’t have enough information yet, or you failed some security step (wrong password) and the site told captcha to be extra sure
You have a lot of faith in people’s logic level. Most people read at 6th grade level. There is a person saying “I think this”, do you really think everyone in there thought “I’m completely unaware of what the deceased thought”
