Sure you can do that, but it’s more work for both parties assuming the message hasn’t been read. I’m just saying that both Signal and WhatsApp have had this feature for quite some time now and it has come in handy for me a few times already.

That’s certainly an issue, but for me it was already quite useful for deleting unread obsolete messages (e.g. deleting “can you bring milk” after you realized that there still is some), or messages accidentally sent to the wrong person. I think limiting to a short time frame and/or only unread messages would solve most of the possible abuse.

This exists in Austria. Males have to choose between 6 months of military or 9 months of public service. Interestingly enough the existence of the public service option has been a strong reason why people voted against removing the mandatory service some years ago.

You can create an email alias for your Microsoft account and then only enable login from that account. If you then do not use that email for anything but the login, you should be pretty safe from credential stuffing attacks.

I had a very similar issue with multiple failed login attempts and changing my login email stopped it right away.
