  • There’s two types of fediverse basically.

    1. Reddit knockoff

    2. Twitter knockoff

Sometimes a #2 can post to a #1, they stand out because they always tag people and us hashtags in comments, when they manage to create a post, they never seem aware and get very very belligerent when people try to explain what they did that created a post.

If you want to engage with them on their level, you need an account on a twitter knockoff.

  • Yeah…

But you know how people are already comparing vibe coding to 40k where “priests” pray to computers and hope if they do the exact same thing they’ll get the same result they want?

If we start walking down this road of even the chat or not understanding why what it did was better…

Serious unintended consequences are going to be inevitable.

Like, I swear nobody knows the paperclip story anymore.

Instrumental convergence posits that an intelligent agent with seemingly harmless but unbounded goals can act in surprisingly harmful ways. For example, a sufficiently intelligent program with the sole, unconstrained goal of solving a complex mathematics problem like the Riemann hypothesis could attempt to turn the Earth (and in principle other celestial bodies) into additional computing infrastructure to succeed in its calculations.[2]

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instrumental_convergence

I mean, we can make a very very solid argument that much of our current problems are caused by high level stock trading being done by algorithms who’s only instruction is “make numbers go up”.

This shit aint even hypothetical anymore, it’s just instead of “make as many paperclips” we told it “make more money than you did yesterday”.

Which is why we’re burning down the planet to make billionaires even more money

  • Labeled bots that just post content?

There was/is some but I blocked them long ago.

Bots pretending to be humans in the comment section?

Nothing believable, it works on reddit because most posts are reposts so the bots just recreate the old comment chain. It looks like an authentic human conversation because it was. But even on reddit I doubt there are many bots who can respond logically and not just recycle whatever got up voted last time. Because the boys are also up voting each other and reinforcing it

That’s “dead internet” once the bots are more active and outweigh humans on the algorithm, it doesn’t matter what people like, just who paid the most for bots.

Then the internet becomes a giant waste of electricity that people just stop using.

  • We have a lot more than five senses…

Close your eyes and clap your hands, now how did you just do that?

Proprioception is a sense of where our body parts are in relation to each other, and how we can walk without staring at our feet the whole time.

What you’re looking for is a “gut feeling” which is often your subconscious, but your gut has a shitton of neural cells too. And can function like a “minibrain”.

    https://www.science.org/content/article/your-gut-directly-connected-your-brain-newly-discovered-neuron-circuit

Most likely it’s an actual “proto-brain” hold over from before organisms even had heads.

But anyways, most likely it’s coming from your subconscious, there are things it puts together and recognizes, and especially if danger is around then it’s just gonna flash a warning light and not walk your conscious mind thru the logic that tells you why there’s a warning light. Because it’s better to respond fast and later work out why the warning light was flashing.

So, an example would be before I learned about the correlations between prenatal testosterone, in group bonding, and facial width; it was a joke among a specific friend group that “don’t trust guys with skinny faces”.

Not that low prenatal testorone makes someone untrustworthy, just that in situations where you need to 100% count on people to have your back, the people most likely to not are the ones that are not biologically wired to blindly defend what they recognize as “us”, their in group.

But this is a thing on a wider social scale, guys with “rat face” are often cast as villains and betrayers in media, because on some level even tho we consciously don’t recognize why, we all just instantly distrust to some extent. Not from conscious logic, but individual lifetimes of experience and us just automatically picking up the pattern.

Prenatal androgen exposure, approximated via 2D:4D, was associated with prosocial behavior. In contrast to previous research in older children, higher exposure was related to stronger prosocial tendencies, which corresponds to earlier findings on fairness in adults. Our findings point towards a potential role of sex steroids in the early development of children’s social behavior, but they have to be interpreted with caution due to the small sample size of the current study. Nevertheless, they underscore the importance of integrating biological and psychological perspectives, while also highlighting the significance of studying the development of prosocial behavior within peer groups.

  • Good luck…

Even when the bubble bursts, they’re going to have an insane amount of computing power just sitting there, it will get sold off in bankruptcy proceedings, and some company will gobble it up and operate at a loss while continuing to secure future supply contracts.

There’s a very real chance that we’re witnessing the slow death of home computing.

The way things shake out it might end up being prohibitively expensive compared to cloud computing, and once that’s the norm they price gouge like Walmart did to destroy small businesses.

Instead of dropping a couple grand for a PC every couple years, we’ll have steady contracts paying for month at a time indefinitely.

  • Damn, that shits crazy:

The jury was then subsequently kept for three days without “meat, drink, fire and tobacco” to force it to bring in a guilty verdict. When it failed to do so, the judge ended the trial. As punishment, the judge ordered the jurors imprisoned until they paid a fine to the court.[35]

Four jurors refused to pay the fine, and after several months, Bushell sought a writ of habeas corpus. Chief Justice Vaughan, sitting on the Court of Common Pleas, discharged the writ, released them, called the power to punish a jury “absurd” and forbade judges from punishing jurors for returning a verdict the judge disagreed with

No wonder that dude founded Pennsylvania

  • I tried googling if you all have jury nullification, but just got AI slop and stuff about America…

The most I know about the UK legal system is the cool wigs, and what I learned from Sherlock and Misfits.

But I’d assume a jury can do whatever they want. As long as you’re not self snitching, you don’t have to explain anything. And we’re talking about government support of an ongoing genocide, it’s hard to expect jurours to solely follow the letter of the law.

Like I said tho, I’m completely ignorant of your justice system. Was Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret accurate by any chance?
