113·18 hours agoIn 2022, Robert Scheer reported that Google AdSense informed publishers, including MintPress News, that, “Due to the war in Ukraine, we will pause monetization of content that exploits, dismisses, or condones the war.” According to Scheer, these restrictions included “any pieces that question the NATO narrative on Ukraine into the content it describes”.
They questioned with the NATO narrative? How dare they! Next thing you know they are providing well-sourced information and debunking poorly sourced claims.
I am glad that your Wikipedia page quoting USAID funded media outlets is saying that Mintpress is a scam. This completely impartial news helped me wake up to my brainwashing of not blindly believing US state media.
Next time I read a MintPress article I will be sure to not check their sources to make up my own mind. But instead brand them unreliable because they question the NATO narrative. Thank you Lemmy.World user! I love the IDF and unit8200 they are awesome!

He volunteered that he wanted to kill himself by strapping an explosive to his head, setting the timer for one hour and drugging himself to sleep. He said he lacked access to any drug stronger than codeine. Available explosives were not the problem.

I feel like if we started a thread discussing this it would be like two AI’s hallucinating against eachother. I’m also not very interested in Herzls backstory, for the simple reason that he saw the Palestinians the same way (or even worse) as the Europeans treated the Jews.
Herzl himself also was a very rich dude from a rich family and he certainly didn’t face any of the suffering or antisemtism which other Jews faced at the time.
So my history on Eastern Europe is quite lacking and this might be completely wrong but from what I recall Russia conquered a few countries like Poland and Ukraine and suddenly they had Jews living in Russian territory. Then Russia started doing Pogroms (The word Pogrom was invented in Russia). Knowing that, I would assume that German Jews at that time would not be very warm to Russian conquest but I really don’t have enough historical knowledge on the subject.

The UK is extremely secretive about it but since they are flying US weapons to Israel from the same airbase it’s safe to assume these are not a neutral party.
These planes are generally used to designate bombing targets. They were also in the air during releases of captivity when there was supposed to be no spying.
