Aren’t 75% of the users Russian bots? Lol
Oh gotcha, I see what you’re doing. Samsung Calendar (I use the S24 Ultra) has 2-way syncing with GCal. Everyone else is on iOS and they all have Google accounts so GCal was the easiest way to handle it.
I have shared calendars with family and friends that I need to keep using.
I want to make the jump from Google apps but I can’t because I use GCal heavily and Proton Calendar doesn’t (yet) sync to GCal. I can enter in something in GCal and it’ll appear in Proton Calendar, but I can’t enter in something in Proton Calendar and it shows up in GCal. Hopefully they add that soon.
I had this years ago when I was in IT and had the on-call pager. We rotated it around the team so in had it every 6 weeks or so but it sucked hearing it go off in the middle of the night for some random server issue.
Man, you never worked for a large corporation that that had internal web based apps that only work on Internet Explorer and refused to update it.
I wonder how this affects people that setup Pi Hole and VPN and all that.
Sounds about right for HP.
He’s just butthurt that he can’t get xAI off the ground.
Tell me about gaming on Linux. Most if my gaming is via Steam and I have a Steamdeck which I know runs on a flavor of Linux so it can be done. Is it fair to say that any game that runs on the Steam runs on Steam Linux?
I just got a new prebuilt with Windows 11 Pro and I’ve been curious about Linux for the past few months. I know the variations have gotten better over the years but haven’t done too much research into it. I hear Mint and Arch quite a bit.
Not a programmer by any means (haven’t done any since college) but I’ve asked it for help in writing Jira queries or Excel mess and it’s been pretty solid with that stuff.
Exactly! That’s like saying fake aren’t real tits. If you can touch them, they’re real!
I think it’s more these companies invested millions into either building the offices or renting them (and can’t get out of the lease) so to make it worth while they’re having people come back.
One of my offices moved to a larger building across the street because there wasn’t enough room for FTEs and contractors to come in 3 days a week. The larger building still isn’t large enough even for just FTEs so they rented a floor of another building and are making contractors go to that building 3 days a week. They’re going to an office to still be remote lol. Talk about stupidity.
He just laid off the entire supercharger team and I think the car design team lol.
I love Outline
It’s about making money for executives and shitting on the employees that do the actual work.
I was impacted and it sucked. Having no cell service for 8-9 hours is not fun. Can’t make or receive calls or texts, every app that requires or uses an internet connection (like Waze) was impacted. Whole Waze worked with directions using offline maps and GPS, you don’t fet stuff like traffic conditions and rerouting.
But when you only have a cell phone and limited wifi resources at the office, it’s a major pain in the butt. And I didn’t report so that 70k could’ve been a conservative number of people that reported.
Yeah, I get the socializing aspect and it hasn’t been bad coming in. I’ve been wfh for the past like 4 years so it’s nice to put on actual clothes instead of wearing joggers and t-shirts every day lol. You’re lucky you’re only required to come in one day a week. We have to come in 3 days (eventually we’ll be monitored to make sure we come in 3 days) but at least we can pick the 3 days every week.
On the plus side, we have assigned cubes (no hotel cubes thankfully!) and since I was part of the first small group to come in, I was able to change cubes.
However, I still think it’s BS that companies are forcing the back to work crap with such strict boundaries.
You’d be amazed at what seemingly intelligent people will do or say or believe.
