This sounds like a good idea.
That is why i keep most media as AVC/ACC mp4s. So to avoid transcoding. All video is 1080p or less. On a 1 Gb line.
Jellyfin on arch behind nginx. I connect with VPN, through NAT or on the local network. What else to say? I have noticed that syncplay is significantly more reliable through nginx. Not sure why that is. But it is still fragile. I’ve had this issue unresolved so long that I am just living with it. If it works, great. If it doesn’t, then i don’t use it.
Clients: firefox, jellyfin client, chrome, android client. The issue is pretty consistent across them all.
I mostly keep 8bit AVC/ACC, 2-channel mp4s. Some h265 as well. I have not noticed a pattern. Syncplay seem agnostic to encodings and filetypes.
I get the feeling that i am far from alone on this issue. There are threads out there.
Jellyfin ia great! But syncplay breaks if you snease.
I can guess what you are alluding to. But explain anyways.
Probably cause kids ridicule you hard if you are wrong or stand out. When you grow up, you might learn to have your own opinions, but you might never unlearn the various defens mechanisms and feelings of ridicule that developed as a result of kids around you scrutinizing you and your opinions.
They don’t want to hear it cause it is uncomfortable. And they feel like they are loosing respect and getting attacked. They rather sweep it under the rug and forget about it, sometimes not learning from it at all. Humans are also lazy.
Being wrong gracefully is a learnt skill.
Yes I recognise this and I hate it. I don’t wanna be a detective just to figure out which product I need.
My first guess is; they want me to give up and hope I just pick the most expensive option. My second guess is; they themselves think it’s all obvious and looks straight forward. They don’t think it’s necessary to test their sales pages on actual consumers.
It’s a frustrating experience and I think it drives consumers away.
Does revolt have screen share with audio? What about noise filter?
Need alternatives to have built-in, easy to use screenshare with audio. And of course great noise filtering on voice chats.
This is something i’ve wanted to do for a while. It’s cool! An easy vpn endpoint or a file server i can just drop where i need it.
Then it is harming someone.
How well does jellyfin work on a rpi? How many simultaneous 1080p users with AVC\ACC media can it do? Active cooling?
This is what i’m imagining: Hey and welcome to the kill people yt channel! Like and subscribe. Hey chat, we need money for a new camera. Anyone know any pedos we can go and kill? Sounds like chat doesn’t like this whodrankarnoldpalmer. Sounds like a sus guy. If we reach our donation we will drag him behind our car for you guys. We will be puting this guys fingers on ebay btw, so look out for that.
That is allot of stuff in a short time. Nice!
You copy some text from a webpage and put it in your email or word processor, it copies the formating too and everything looks wonky. If you paste the clipboard content in a text editor, like notepad and copy the text from there, you strip the formating.
That is what the post is refering to.

As I understand it, the establishing of the connection is reliant on a relay server. So this would not work on a local network without a relay server and would, by default, try to reach a server on the internet to make connections.
rsync is indeed fiddly. Consider SFTP in your GUI of choice. I mount the folder I need in my file browser and grab the files I need. No terminal needed and I can put the folders as favorites in the side bar.
Intel gets punched again.
