The few things that I’m into and their related subs. Those communities here are next to nothing, and even when I post, there is no engagement. There’s just no one there.

I do not miss the cesspool of comments and the shitty moderation. I’m sure it’s only gotten so much worse since I’ve left.

Yea, I try to be as nice as I can on the internet. There’s no reason to be an ass other than you’re miserable and want other people to be as well.

It’s a mixed bag though, I’ve had some people be assholes but I ignore them if they have nothing of substance to say and focus on the positive communications.

Also, blocking the Linux communities really helped my feed. Idk what it is about the Linux superiority complex. Although I feel like most of it comes from a good place, the delivery of the information usually isn’t the best.

All depends on your personality and possible HOA’s in a more populated area.

Personally, I don’t have a problem being separated from people, and you don’t have to be lonely just because you’re away from people - animals can provide you company and keep you busy. I would go with the more recluse location as you can do what you with your property more so than in a neighborhood. Grow a garden, have a bon fire, and just generally have more freedom. Land and houses are generally cheaper a little farther out so that also helps. As long as you have a reliable mode of transportation then living farther away from people is my go to. Also, a plus if you work remote and don’t have to commute.

Yea, that’s as well as browser slot machines. So predatory, it’s really disgusting. But what they were talking about at the end of the article goes way past any of that.

Thus actually happened to my friend a few weeks ago. Went from a 40 dollar ride to 20 after passing on the 40 for a little while.

I was talking shit about this to a group of friends one day, saying that how the hell do you think that’s a good idea and one of them piped up that he had a picture of him with a fish he caught and justified it as “showing them they can provide food”. I might as well have a picture of me in the fucking grocery store with a cart full of food with that logic. I asked him to ask some of his matches what they thought about it but I dont think he ever did. Needless to say I don’t think that man has actually gotten laid in a decade.

Change your name to something obviously fake. Years back I had my name as something that wasn’t my actual name, they asked me for my ID to verify my identity. Well, I sent them some gross pictures I conjured up from the internet and uploaded those instead of my ID and it didn’t take long for them to just completely deactivate it.
