And if you think this is a just India thing, that Twitter is not trying to tip the scales toward fascists in your country’s elections, you should think again. This is important to consider wherever you are.

Sounds like a classic case of Chuunibyou. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C5%ABniby%C5%8D
Chūnibyō (中二病) is a Japanese colloquial term typically used to describe early teens who have grandiose delusions, who desperately want to stand out, and who have convinced themselves that they have hidden knowledge or secret powers. It translates to “middle-second syndrome”

Shalakushka@kbin.socialto Technology@lemmy.world•Hey tech billionaires, if you want to talk about radical change, let’s abolish venture capitalism528·2 years agoIndustrialization lifts people out of poverty, capitalism sinks them into poverty by stealing the value of their labor as profit.
Also what’s with the phrase “lifted out of poverty?” The fuck does that mean? Why is this same phrase repeated anytime some criticizes capitalism? It’s like a stock phrase or talking point that makes you sound like a robot.

Shalakushka@kbin.socialto > Greentext@lemmy.ml•Anon notices the "grass is always greener" trope in movies105·2 years agoWhen you want to travel to the third world countries that connect the cities of the US you could rent a car, which is necessary because rural areas have apparently forgotten about public transit of any kind. In civilized countries, there’s a solid network of mass transit basically everywhere. It doesn’t matter that you’re in a podunk town, a bus comes by every half hour because it’s a necessity to have a regular bus more than a full one.
This is anti content. “Look at what my computer spit out when I asked for a joke!”
Shalakushka@kbin.socialto Technology@lemmy.ml•Here are the details on the grisly deaths of Elon Musk’s Neuralink monkeys7·2 years agoYou can have a moral high ground either way. It would be impossible to live in such a way that you are totally free of hypocrisy and anything someone could possibly criticize you for, which is what these people are basically asking in bad faith. They are saying you would have to live an impossible life because they do not want a moral high ground to exist at all. Just because we do not always meet our ideals does not mean we cannot have ideals, or that we cannot note when those ideals have not been met in others. I have not lived a 100% violence free life, but that isn’t necessary to call out something like a murder.
