Privacy should be a basic human right.
Data collection could be massively abused by oppressive governments.
Not caring about it = Not caring about your rights.
Full stack developer and privacy advocate. I like to keep the mentality, if you can program one language well, then you can program in any language!
Privacy should be a basic human right.

Not caring about it = Not caring about your rights.
Sure hope so.
Would be handy if they included a pre-written pdf to oppose this proposition + emails or forms to easily submit your opposition to each of the countries.
Instead it’s a general “contact your government”,
which 99% of normal people do not know how to do, me included.
Never give up,
each eye you poke out is one less they can use for data collection.
It’s a slow process and they’ll grow more eyes,
but the less they have on you,
the more private you’ll be.
You can ditch YouTube,
without actually ditching YouTube content,
through a privacy respecting alternative frontend:
https://www.privacyguides.org/en/frontends/#youtube
My favorite ones:
Suyu is the most popular + actively developed afaik.
https://suyu.dev/
They host their code on their own Forgejo instance:
https://git.suyu.dev/explore/repos
Which is more DMCA proof then Github/Gitlab.
I hope ForgeFed will go into production soon,
then we can synchronize the code in between multiple Forgejo instances in a federated fashion.

How do you think news sites earn money?
They do not provide that content for free,
you are their product of which they benefit.
I use NoScript,
which tells me about each JavaScript piece a website has, most if not all of them contain trackers (= data collection).
Each article,
links to a news site,
which is riddled with data trackers,
which collects info about you,
which is sold.
In addition the sites contain advertisements.
Only these 2:
Because they:
Human Centipede,
that shit is banned in a few countries for a reason…
Hope these will help with opting out for data collection / informing yourself about it:
It might not be as environmentally friendly as POS (Proof of Stake),
however it’s much more secured against attacks.
POS only has a few hundred validators that need to be attacked.
POW needs tens of thousands if not more miners that need to be attacked.
Imo monetary systems,
should aim for maximum security.
XMR is one of the few honorable crypto projects out there though.
However this fundraiser is suspicious and spamming, which I do not condone.
Wikiless?
The original project was taken down by Wikipedia, but this appears to be an active fork of it:

I mean same applies to the Chinese,
but wanting to look good in an oppressive system, does not mean you actually like to be oppressed by said system.
Dear politicians,
stop assaulting our rights,
and start fighting for our rights,
unless you’d like to be yeeted out of parliament.
With kind regards,
every aware citizen.
Imagine living in China,
where the government is able to request data of each company in their country.
Imagine that China would setup an AI/LLM, to feed all private chat data into it,
and automatically flagging opposition of the government regime.
Imagine a white van appearing in front of your house and disappearing into a concentration camp because you got flagged after expressing your opposition to the government to your mate in a private chat.
All collected data can be abused like that,
or by other means (E.g. a country at war gets hacked, which could lead to leaking critical private information on political/defensive decisions).
To me the question is not if data collected on you will be abused, but rather when will it be abused?
Just having it stored somewhere imposes risks.
