NONE@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If the internet didn't exist, do you think you would've have the same political ideology, religion/philosophy, and the overall worldview on life?2·11 days agoNo.
I wouldn’t go to the extreme of being a completely different person, a reactionary or something, but I would be much less than I am now, and that would be bad for me.
I say I would not go to extremes because my parents are already within the left political spectrum and because of their upbringing I have a predilection to it, but it is certain that I would not have delved as deep as I have so far.
On the religious side, however, I don’t think there were any changes. I didn’t believe when I was a child, and I believe less now, even though my mother is very devoted to God and I am baptized. It is what it is.
NONE@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried over a celebrity or complete strangers death, why?18·14 days agoWhen Akira Toriyama died I had to take some time off in the middle of work and go to the bathroom to cry. I think the reasons are obvious if you know who the man was. Here in Latin America Dragon Ball is almost a religion, you see the Z warriors wherever you look. Akira’s pen drew the childhood of millions around the world for several generations, it is difficult to find someone here who has not been marked by his work. Even now my heart still crumples a little at the memory of him.
May you rest in peace, Master. As long as your memory lives on, you will remain immortal.

NONE@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do Americans want to know the month first and the day second?14·15 days agoMmm not so much. I prefer to know on the first day so, for example, how close I am to payday, which is every two weeks. I don’t care that much about months other than December since I finished college.

Kinda relatable ngl 😅
NONE@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do Americans want to know the month first and the day second?51·15 days ago… Curiosity? Some interesting things are hidden in the most trivial information.
NONE@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do Americans want to know the month first and the day second?32·15 days agoPerhaps because where I live there are no seasons in the same way as in the United States, knowing the month doesn’t matter to us unless we work in the fields, here there are only months of sun and months of rain.
NONE@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do Americans want to know the month first and the day second?31·15 days agoI does make more sense if you put it that way.
NONE@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do Americans want to know the month first and the day second?31·15 days agoThe first two are true that they don’t make any sense, but the “Diecidos” is because it sounds horrible.

NONE@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do Americans want to know the month first and the day second?51·15 days agoI speak speak Spanish, so we just say “Primero de Julio” (1st of July)" an then “Dos/tres/quince de Julio” (Two/three/fifteen of July). An of course, all are perfectly fine.
NONE@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?61·16 days agoI think my laptop, a Samsung Notepad with touchscreen. Before I got it it was already used and has been with me for more than 10 years. A couple of years ago I gave it a new life by installing Linux and I hope it will last me another 10 years.
I use the same avatar in every network I’m in. Is kinda my internet persona, although is not “me”, its has his own name and everything, Dusk.
If I don’t die of old age surrounded by my loved ones, I will probably die by firing squad.
NONE@lemmy.worldOPto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Reding this kind of comments every single week in Manga PlusEnglish21·26 days agoManga Plus is the official App where Shonnen Jump digitally publishes its manga, from there manga like Chainsaw Man, Spy X Family and Dandadan, among others, became famous.
The comments are not so much complaints as (very) recurrent jokes, but in my land they say that “between jokes, the truth comes out”. That said, complaining about the lack of content in a weekly manga of no more than 24 pages per chapter is like complaining that a non marvel or DC movie has no post-credits scene, sequels or prequels. And if it bothers them so much to wait one to two weeks for a chapter they feel is “short”, they can always wait for the compilation volumes to be published and read the whole thing in one sitting.
Only if I’ve had a lot of fun and want to know who is responsible for my happiness, or if the game doesn’t allow me to skip them.
