The best tip I can give is to idle on a flat service with the clutch in, and slowly release it until the car starts moving. Your first time, do not touch the gas at all. Once you understand when the clutch “bites”, practice lightly adding some gas to the bite. Once you get the car moving, the rest of the gears are easy by comparison.
My dad spent a whole Saturday with me as a kid frustrated that I didn’t just “get it”. The next weekend I practiced by myself and did the above method and figured it out in about 15 minutes.
I would love a faithful adaptation of Worm, but I don’t think it could ever do the series justice.
It was maybe 7 years ago now, but I bought a dumb Sceptre TV and it still works great. Was only $300 at the time.
I didn’t think I was old. Now I do.
It is a luxury to not consider worrying about yourself as related to politics.
Not caring about politics is a luxury afforded by living in a country that has had at least a semi-functional political landscape for a while. Those who have lived under oppressive governments will be the first to tell you not to take for granted what you have.
Yes, it is worth the 3 hour watch time.
I’ve been saying since EVs hit the market that I couldn’t wait for them to be cheap enough used for me to justify purchasing one. That hasn’t happened yet. Most I’ve ever spent on a car was $7k.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand cropped memes. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of memetics and linguistics most of the jokes will go over a typical reader’s head. There’s also the high contrast color pallette, which is deftly woven into the message. Lemmy users understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike cropped memes truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in longing for the bottom half of the text, “Join our Discord”. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as the meme’s genius wit unfolds itself on their smartphone screens. What fools…
Adding a splash of heavy cream to my cereal.
Easy, don’t know what to tell you
That’s fair, it works for me because I just have one cup but it would be tedious for multiple cups each morning.
Same, but Aeropress for my coffee. I haven’t yet tried a mocha pot, though I’d like to.
From '03 to '06, there was a guacamole flavored Dorito. Best bag snack I’ve ever had.
When we were dating, my wife and I would poke our fingers in each other’s mouths when the other person started yawning. It was funny, but we got tired of it really fast and made a pact not to do it anymore.
We’ve been together for 8 years and we still nervously side-eye each other when we yawn. If we’re feeling mischievous, we will flinch towards the one yawning to scare them.
Steve Jobs was wealthy despite having a salary of $1 per year.
If they could do this, it would be a good idea. It’s just not possible.
