Not sure if that’s actually a “passkey” in the same sense then, MS is doing its own shit for sure. I use vaultwarden/bitwarden and can save standard passkeys there no problem.

You can use browser extensions, not sure why you’d think you’d have to run an android VM lmfao

Learning about quant level was helpful as well

Thanks for the reminder, done as well :)

I think it’s just that the playstore doesn’t know it’s a system app like the settings panel does.

Or Alternatively they’re sitting at home in their pajamas enjoying a nice cup of coffee 🤷♂️

I generally just tag users, I’ve blocked a few though

Yeah, unless you prevent image uploads it’s possible and easy for someone to put that shit on a drive you own which then means you’re technically distributing and harboring it.
Scary stuff

You’re fine, they go after the ones sharing it, of course if you want to tell authorities you can, just you’re not going to get in trouble for accidentally stumbling upon some asshat being a pedo. It does very much keep me from wanting to run my own instance though.

Feel like the internet bubble is an even better comparison, the internet is completely ubiquitous now

It absolutely is to the majority of capitalists unless it still somehow directly benefits them monetarily

Lol mine is “Why?” for the same reasons

Mullvad is more private but Proton VPN still supports port forwarding.
Been seeing weird instances of downvotes on obvious jokes on lemmy lately.
Like I get sometimes it’s hard to tell sarcasm but… The ones I’m thinking of it’s extremely obvious lol

Coming up on a year of self hosting the worst I’ve had happen is a copyright letter from my isp from dry downloading torrents lmao. Threw I behind a vpn and it’s been fine since.

Idk most of the time I just dcpull dcup (aliases ftw)
Ofc had some stuff break occasionally if there’s a breaking change but the same could happen through apt no?
I prefer it to dependency hell personally lol

Just replace Apt update with docker pull 🤷♂️

It’s really nice once it’s going, especially if you link them together in a compose and farm out all the individual ymls for each service, or use something like dockage to do it.
I went with proxmox and various LXCs for either individual services or docker stacks with several things on a minimal os (I’m comfortable with Ubuntu server so that’s what I go with generally as the unpriv LXC)
Incentive structures that directly undermine collaboration
