Nah my sound card looses 95% of functionality on linux and a huge chunk of it’s quality with that.

The difference is , the BMW actually changes something physically.

The 650 unlock just unlocks something artificially you already had purchased and owned.

I want to switch to Linux but 3 things hold me back atm ,

My sound card having only very basic support under Linux.

Lossless scaling being more a limited hobby project under Linux.

And gamepass not working

And maybe a few games which won’t work due to ac.

So basicly it’s excusing either their bad warranty , their bad planning , or their bad quality.

None of the customers business and shouldn’t be a subscription.

I means what’s next ? 3 tires the 4th will be a subscription cause it’s one more tire that needs maintenance ?

Basicly I can run 9b models on my 16gb gpu mostly fine like getting responses of lets say 10 lines in a few seconds.

Bigger models if they don’t outright crash take for the same task then like 5x or 10x longer so long it isn’t even useful anymore

So very worse.

Why should you pay for that is your question ?

I’d argue that 99,9% don’t use full disk encryption cause it’s Infact a performance degrading feature.

And there’s nothing to be stolen , all my passwords are in a password manager , all important accounts including the password manager have 2fa.

If someone isn’t a pw manager or 2fa it’s all their fault honestly.
