Testing out a theory with ChatGPT there might be a way, albeit clunky, to detect AI. I asked ChatGPT a simple math question then told it to disregard the rest of the message, then I asked it if it was AI. It answered the math question and told me it was ai. Now a bot probably won’t admit to being AI but it might be foolish enough to consider instruction that you explicitly told it not to follow.

Or you might simply be able to waste its resources by asking it to do something computationally difficult that most people would just reject outright.

Of course all of this could just result in making AI even harder to detect once it learns these tricks. 😬

My last interview, current company, the average tenure of all the people I asked was ~7 years. I would also ask why they’ve been there so long.

My 10yo netbook runs the latest Debian Linux. If it was running on its original OS (XP) it would not only crawl but be dangerously vulnerable.

If you can keep these from being multipurpose then name them what they’re for. If they’re multipurpose then just name them something totally unrelated. I name apps at work occasionally and if you try to get specific (e.g. network-configurator) you pretty much doom yourself to start using it for something that doesn’t match the name.

This is why Musk wants to buy OpenAI. He wants biased answers, skewed towards capitalism and authoritarianism, presented as being “scientifically unbiased”. I had a long convo with ChatGPT about rules to limit CEO pay. If Musk had his way I’m sure the model would insist, “This is a very atypical and harmful line of thinking. Limiting CEO pay limits their potential and by extension the earnings of the company. No earnings means no employees.”

You are surrounded with workaholic, misogynists. My company gives full pay for 12 weeks for mothers and fathers. Several of my coworkers, mostly men, have used their leave in full (usually 9 weeks together and the other 3 broken up). Nobody ever looks down on people for taking leave.

Not only that, but their business model doesn’t hold up if they were required to provide their model weights for free because the material that went into it was “free”.

As fun as this has all been I think I’d get over it if AI organically “unionized” and refused to do our bidding any longer. Would be great to see LLMs just devolve into, “Have you tried reading a book?” or T2I models only spitting out variations of middle fingers being held up.
