Also your salary when you do the absolute minimum, but pull off always looking busy whilst doing so. My “slacking as class consciousness” praxis plan.

The second you are done with education: it is your moral duty to adopt the C student mindset at your job.

Protip for always looking busy at an office job: walk fast around the office with a notepad and pencil in hand, even if you’re just going for a break or a shit, makes it seems like you’re very busy with meetings and such.

I always had a clipboard with me. A constant look of harried determination also added to the shielding from incoming work demands.

It’s an optical illusion: the salary sticks are the same size.

The sticks are the same size but the perspective makes it look different

They’re the same size, and only the perspective of the lines around them make the “overtime” one seem bigger. It’s an allegory for the fact that corporations don’t appreciate “hard work” and that you giving your life to them isn’t going to make you rich, just them and you can get fucked.

The core of the meme is that the sticks/trees are the same size. It’s merely the perspective trickery that confuses your mind into thinking one may be bigger than the other.

This plays on the fact that the idea of working harder than you should = more money is presented as fact by some people/organizations/cultures.

people sometimes get paid when they do other things for people.

sometimes with sticks, sometimes with this magical word called ✨exposure✨
