I always debate whether to put these in c/tenforward or here, because they’re Trek characters, but the jokes aren’t technically about Star Trek.
Today I had two of them, so I put one here and one there.

I assume it’s more like a life’s purpose.
People were predicting this a while back as a way that reddit would make themselves more “advertiser-friendly”.
I also wonder if there were some legal concerns in those states that now require porn sites to check IDs.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is the accusation that they collect keystroke data from outside the app if you have it installed?

It’s hard to fully explain how the reception of words change to people who haven’t seen it first-hand.
Even some bad words, which might be incredibly rude to say today, didn’t have the same oomph in the past, so while the definition technically might not have changed, the intended severity of it has.
I am learning as much from this thread, haha.
I’ve wondered the same thing. Seems like it would need to be paired with price controls or public control of essentials, but that’s sort of a “seize the means of production” conversation that I don’t think would be popular unless something like AI genuinely puts enough people out of work.
Amazing. Some of my favorite experiences in the new ones have also been creative problem-solving, like rocketing open a hole in a wall to allow my snipers to see through, or trying to carry my injured/dead soldiers with the good loot to extraction when I have to cut my losses and run.
Sounds like I should just go ahead and play the old ones too. I started one up earlier this year, but it wasn’t clear what all the buttons did, and I didn’t have the focus to figure it out. I need to look up the manual or watch a video or something.
…I sadly didn’t know about the series until the new ones in 2012. I’ve played the hell out of them and do want to go back and play the DOS ones sometime.
