I live in Eastern Europe. 1/3 ads I have seen during the past month while reading google news, have been scam ads. My eye is pretty trained towards them. I even reported some that I thought are REALLY crossing the line, like the one that used AI generated image of Prime Minister of my country, leading to a phishing site. Each time I’ve reported it to google with proof, the answer from google has always been “this does not go against our terms of service”
Huh. I understood that as “big player in shorting world”

I really don’t agree with this comment seeing how useful task manager has gotten over the years. It used to be pretty simple process explorer, but has evolved into almost a full fledged resource monitor. The only thing that feels like missing now is afterburner-like overlay in games.

Every third chat now gets triggered, the ChatGPT is pretty broken lately. Just check out ChatGPT subreddit, its pretty much in chaos with moderators going for censorship of complaints. So many users are mad they made a megathread for it. I cancelled my subscription yesterday, it just turned into a cyberkaren

It’s kinda a good thing. Addons can easily deal with these popups. Like some news websites that cover the page with “to continue reading, do this”, when I can just use “remove overlays” addon and keep reading. Dynamic content for the win.

If I remember correctly, MS still pushed some critical patches to Win7 after the support ended as they realized 1/3 of world’s computers turning into botnets is probably not in their interests.

The whole DRM thing just feels stupid, because it’s mostly used to prevent people from sharing movies online, but people who share movies online are generally not tech illiterate, so the only peope who end up being affected by it are normal every day people like OP.
Pretty much same for gaming. DRM tends to mess with your game, framerate even. People who pirate don’t have that problem.
My only question is - when will it be available?
