Bingo, never forget Putin is ex-KGB/FSB, the master of propaganda. Many people seem to fall easily for russia and US propaganda. This war has nothing to do with massive CSTO, NATO, NAZI , LGBTQ, biolabs and etc. Those are propaganda for sheeps. To make it seem complicated. It is the same strategy, the WMDs excuses US used to invade Iraq. We hate US for doing that, It is the same reason we hate russia for doing the same, unless one is a hypocrite.

Russia have hardly any troops along border with NATO members. Russia is already surrounded with nuclear powers. No nuclear power will nuke a neighbour as the radiation will spread to their own country. Russia have nukes right next to NATO members in kaliningard. Russia made Belarus a nuclear sponge.

The truth is more likely simple and practical, more about getting warm water ports, more lands/colonies and imperialism but it hard to sell pure facist ideas like that to the people and world. Putin talked about soviet empire during interview with carlson. Russia got the warm water port from Crimea but most of the water supply to crimea comes from Ukraine. This invasion is to secure that water supply and probably even to link up with Transnistria. Any other reason given is minor and mostly just pure propaganda to confuse and complicate, to hide the truth, to build support from different groups, to demonize the enemy and sell the need for invasion to sheeps. Just like how the US sold the idea about WMDs in iraq.

Also note NATO does not expand it is based on membership, one way to identify russia talking point propaganda is someone using the word “expansion” or “pushing expansion” when talking about NATO. In geopolitics expansion usually means invasion. In order to justify their own invasion they have to use words like expansion for NATO.

Potential NATO member, apply for membership and are accepted by vote. Before the war there was only minority public support inside ukraine for ukraine joining NATO, it changed after the war. Even after Ukraine government said they won’t apply to NATO but russia didn’t leave Ukraine lands ie. It was about the lands not NATO.

Putin : “I am absolutely convinced that Ukraine will not shy away from the processes of expanding interaction with NATO and the Western allies as a whole. Ukraine has its own relations with NATO; there is the Ukraine-NATO Council. At the end of the day the decision is to be taken by NATO and Ukraine. It is a matter for those two partners.” http://www.en.kremlin.ru/events/president/transcripts/21598

Yup, nothing is a threat to moscovite russia, they have the largest nuclear arsenal, largest amount of land in the world to shelter during a nuclear attack. You will notice how russia propagandist talk about how powerful russia is, nobody can defeat russia at the same time they will cry about a tiny non-nuclear countries is a threat to russia to justify more expansionism. Measure percentage of russia border with NATO members vs total border of russia before russia invaded Ukraine. it is tiny there is no surrounding. Note, Russia did nothing when Finland Sweden joined NATO. NATO only prevents russia from achieving its expansionism goals.

Unlike russia, other countries have genuine security concerns about russia expansionism and nukes.

Research which country russian puppet, Viktor Yanukovych went to.
Don’t forget russia has nukes in kalinigard and belarus.
Research on all the coup russia tried to carry out inside Ukraine.
Don’t forget to research about putin’s Wagner group.
If a russia propagandist says there are nazis in other country they are projecting, research into nazis in russia.

  • Use free Anki and get a free 1k or 5k high-frequency community deck from Anki website. Or get Refold 1k deck (paid) for anki.

If you find Anki too complicated and you don’t mind paying a sub (look for discount/vouchers), use lingvist (paid) or memrise (not sure how this app is now after the changes) to learn 1k words. Any app that focuses on high frequency vocab is fine I think.

Cancel subscription once you have learnt 1k words or can read comfortably a simple native book or graded books, or understand a podcast designed for learner (example InnerFrench), probably will take 1-3 months at about 10-30 words a day.

The main difference between 1k and 5k decks is that the 5k decks include very common type of words like “the”, “a”, “he”, “she”, “is”, “are”, which are so high frequency that you will acquire them by just doing anything in the language. Either type of deck is fine, it is up to you.

Try reading graded readers with audio at the same time as you are going through your deck so you are getting more context for new words you learn. You will encounter new words while reading before seeing them in the deck, which has a positive effect in remembering the word. Reading also helps serve to test how much you have improved in using the language.

Read up on some basic high frequency grammar in your target language. Depending on language you will have to also actively learn the alphabet, numbers, phonic and so on before doing any of the above.

The main idea of learning high frequency vocab is to start consuming content as soon as possible. Never forget that using(reading, listening, writing, speaking) the language is the main purpose of learning languages.

If you like gamification and keeping scores, count the books/article read, count the words learnt, count the hours spend listening don’t count coins or gems.

  • If you like religious topics for language learning, that is up to you. I could care less what topics you like.

I won’t go to that school to learn language since I am not interested in religious stuff. I know people who read the bible in Target language to learn. I know there are churches that conduct very extensive language learning courses where you learn a new language within 9 weeks.

For me, i prefer to watch and read sci-fi, fantasy, conspiracy stuff, biography, crime and science topics to learn language. At the end of the day the topic has to be interesting enough for you to keep consuming content in the target language.

if you like spiders, go and learn your TL by reading every book on spiders. I could care less what topic you use to learn a language.
